Wow ! Long time no see , now back with a monarch :) My neighbor grows milkweeds and dill in the backyard especially for swallowtail and monarchs ! I don’t have any green thumb, I believe. Tried some carrots this summer, ithe end result was some thumb sized carrots!

Well, carrots are hard dear! At least you tried :) It needs loose sandy soil. Start with some bush beans, lettuce in the fall. My backyard doesn’t have enough sunlight, so growing vegetables are a challenge for me!

:hello: I enjoyed this post. Kudos to u for capturing my love -The Monarch- Posts of this kind in this forum is far & few between.
Zinnias are winter shy and flower farmers like it because it comes in variety of hues and last longer in a vase for over a week to dozen days. For decoration and garlands this flowers in full bloom in different colours -a wonderful choice.

Yes, very true Sir! I am obsessed with these colors so much so that I pray our seasons first frost comes much later than the predicted date on October, as zinnias cannot handle even the slightest of frost !

Yes, true that! But some of my Indian friends think I am a master gardener when I told them I sowed some carrot seeds in the already existing vegetable bed when we bought the house. Their response was “ wow babi coming Onam we want carrot halwa with homemade carrots” and whenever I meet them they ask about it like they are starving literally. Hmmmm now I need to tell them , coming Onam we are going more gourmet way, carrot salad using fresh minuscule carrots!
