    Hey All,

I am looking for some good, instant, healthy and yummy recipes for breakfast.....My morning time usually is spent in preparing tiffins and usually I am left with very little time to prepare for breakfast before my husband and kids leave for their respective work places.

so the only option left is either a parantha or a dosa...

I was just thinking if there is some way to make breakfast more interesting and instant.

    Looking for your inputs.
    Thanks.

If you like south Indian recipes-pongal,poha,upmas(different varieties),different varieties of dosas. You could try these with oats also as followed these days. There are many sites offering recipes-I like Sailu's kitchen-You could have a look. What about varieties of idlis? You could keep the ingredients like green chillies ,tomato, ginger etc cut and kept the previous day if you are short of time.Put in all your interest to get a good breakfast.

    Regards,

I normally make some minor variations - for ex, one day plain Dosa, one day, add cut onion, chillies, tomato and call it oothappam...similarly for idlis, once plain ones, and sometimes, add crushed jeera, pepper, ginger, curry leaves..... :)

    Hi,

You can try different sandwiches, bread comes very handy when you are short of time.

You can choose whole wheat/brown/multi grain bread for a healthier option.

Some of the ideas could be:
    1) Cucumber/Tomato/Cheese Sandwich , Just cut them and put them in bread with a little malai and salt and black pepper...you can exclude cheese or tomato if you have no time...cucumber sandwiches alone taste yummy

    2) make Potato sandwiches in a toaster or tawa

    3) You can grate carrot and cabbage the previous night...just add a spoon of mayonnise with them and fill them in bread.....these are very yummy and instant too....

    Enjoy!

    Hello,

You can try veggie porridge, You can cut the veggies one night before and roast the dalia and keep it in an airtight container....Roasted dalia is very handy to use.
You can also make it sweet with milk and sugar.

Now a days britannia has started a whole new range of healthy breakfast mixes also quaker oats are available in different sweet and salty flavors that are ready to cook very much like a maggi.....you can do some R&D in the supermarket and I am sure u'll have a lot of healthy options.
