    Dearest Krishnamma,

    Perippau Pradhaman,

    Ingrdients:
    !/4 Kg. Yellow Mung Dal,
    2 tbsp plain uncooked Rice
    2 1/2 Cups Coconut Milk,
    1/2kg Jaggery
1/2 Cup coconut cut into small pieces
    2 tbsp ghee
    1/2 tspCardamom pd

Roast the mung dal and the rice in a cooker and add half of the coconut milk and pressure cook it. Once the steam is off add grated jaggery and boil . Add water if necessary , to get it to the consistency of kheer. Wait till the jaggery is fully dissolved and then you can switch off the gas. Now add the remaining coconut milk and stir well. For garnishing fry small coconut pieces in ghee till glden brown and add to this . Garnish with cardamom pd.

Dear Krishnamma , this recipe is very similar to your Mung dal kheer except for the coconut milk.

    Love,
    Devika

Re: Sago Payasam / Jewarecy Payasam

    Dear Krishnamma,
    Please help........
I wanted to make this payasam and so I bought Sago (the pack said it is from Tapioca). I fried it in ghee, it did not increase in size but turned slight brown. I then added water and started stirring. Everything dissolved!!
What am i doing wrong?? Witsend
    Thanks for your time,
    Bee

    Dear Krishnamma,
Thanks a lot! I'm very new to making sweets and I gingerly approach each sweet recipe.
I chose this one since it looked very easy and I was mighty disappointed with what happened! I will look around for bigger sago here.
    Thanks a lot,
    Bee

    Hi bee,

Dont worry. you can make sweets with out any problem. Because of the stuff it went like that.
Generally it will become 2 - 3 times bigger than its original size.

Then you will get correct payasam. Try just rice payasam as a start. You will get good result. See my son's thread. He will also prepare that payasam easily.:-D He is a small boy who is preparing those items, then why not you? cheer up dont worry.
