Re: Your toddler's favorite words My son started talking late .He started to talk when he was 2yrs old.So the fav words then were "No"(for everything he was asked his immediate reply would be a No) "Amma and Acha"( father) but used to confuse them while using Then he could spot and name cars ranging from mini coopers to hummers..,that BTW was also his fav pass time while travelling in the car.
Re: Your toddler's favorite words My toddler doesn't talk yet. She's almost two, but her brother (7) is disabled and can't speak, so that may be why. She picks up and mimics a lot of what he is, or in this case isn't, doing. She babbles nonstop, though. And I could almost swear she's babbling in Hindi. It sounds NOTHING like the "baby Chinese" babbling I've heard from most of the babies I've been around. Funny thing is that she hasn't been exposed to Hindi since she was about four months old and we were at my ex-husband's parents' house to visit. And even that wasn't spoken to her; his mom was watching some Hindi TV drama or another (I forget which one) and it was background noise!

Re: Your toddler's favorite words @janu.. my cousin's son who is almost 2 now says same thing...'bandi'..
This becomes a bit PG now... My 22 mo mispronounces some words which really makes my heart stop the first time I hear them. 1. DD: Dung! Me: What, dear? She pointing to a picture of tongue in her book: Dung 2. I'm on the laptop and I hear her say "S*1T!" I look up and she is trying to make her doll sit on the chair! 3. "Fock!" Me: What's the matter? Pointing to a soft toy of a frog, "Fock!" 4. I carried her to the fridge saying I'll get her milk. She goes "Boobies" I look at her and she points to the blueberries in the fridge. "Look, Boobies!" Phew!
