I am planning to buy something that will keep my cousin engaged for ateast few hours. She is not a kid anymore but as she has autism, she behaves like one. I really want to give her something. The only thing that came to my mind is Lego ..Will that keep her calm for sometime? Please pass on your opinions.

as far as I understand Autistic kids can be colour sensitive like bright colours trouble them or sound sensitive(can't bear wispers or loud noises) ,touch sensitive(can't bear any one touching them)..............
you need to find out what she is sensitive to & buy accordingly............

Many children with autism can become frustrated and uncomfortable when asked to break out of repetitive activities and create something new.So giving her lego blocks is a good idea to get her into a habit creating something new. This is a new behavioral pattern for her.And with time she'll become more creative.
