Hi Am an engineer by profession. Yet i am very much interested in fashion designing. Is it poss to pursue fashion tech by distance educatuion? I have tried many designs on paper and some (not all ) worked well for my kurtis. Please pour in your suggestions of what more i have to do to become a designer. Thanks ~MahiSree
Hi, Saw ur post, same as you i am also much interested in Fashion designing and basically i am a HR proffessional i left my job due to maternity so i utilised that break by doing Fashion design course in part time so i suggest u to do any part time or week end course that will be very usefull than distance edu. Rekha.
Hi Mahisree: My thoughts are same as Rekha's. In my opinion, a course taken up part time / full time seems more useful. However, NIFT offers quite a few certificate courses available through correspondence. Check their site out. All the best with your plans. Sindhu
So nice of you Sindhu and Rekha. Thanks for the response. As u said, i shall check where i can do part time course in Bangalore. i have a 11 months old kid and i spent very few hours with him during weekdays as am a software gal. So my weekends make my world live & colorful with him. For this reason only, i checked for distance edu. If u have any more inputs, please pour in. :thumbsup ~MahiSree
Hi Mahi: I did see a course on fashion design through correspondence by Bangalore University. But I couldn't find any details on it. Try checking their website. How about IGNOU? There is also Vogue Institute that operates in the football Stadium near Garuda Mall. However, have no idea if they have any correspondence course. Will let you know if anything else comes by. Sindhu
hi everyone! i am also very much interested to know the same answer. I stitch a lot but to my disappointment i have to alter the dress most of the times. i sometimes feel like taking internship with some local boutique but my hubby says i'll improve by time so things are going on till date. can anybody suggest what should i do to ensure alter proof designing?
