More you grow in your career, usually we start losing relation with your peers? I am always alone, guess what each year I bag some promotion. It hurts.
Very true! This work has given me some meaningful friendships. After all, we spend most of our times at office than at home, and have interesting challenges, and milestones together as team. These relationships are rewarding. But, when you climb up or get transferred in the name of promotion, the dynamics of this relationship changes. This not only affects work relationship, but also your relationship with your school and college friends too. After a point, these old buddies become just a memory in your life. It is sad. Even though you are the same person from within, your outside look and the demeanour after reaching some levels at your profession will always create a barrier for your old friends from reaching you out.
Look into hiring a coach or mentor who can help you see others perspective. It might be your personality traits too. Sometimes looking inside helps.
