    hi vanathi/others

My daughter fell down yesterday while playing and her elbow was swollen and she cried significantly. so we took her to the ER and they took 3 x-rays of her elbow and everything was fine. but im worried about the x-ray exposure. is is okay for a 2 y/o to have x-rays?

    thanks

Mrudula, once in a while is perfectly alright. DS had to have some X-rays for cold and cough that did not go away to rule out TB. What I read at that point suggested that frequent exposure may be an issue, not occasional x-rays. Hope the little one is feeling better now.

Mrudula - its perfectly ok for children of all ages to have the occassional xray - in fact its fairly routine for the youngest of preterm babies (as young as 28 weeks) to have x rays taken for various reasons. So please dont worry.
