    Neelu,

My old company has a fridge & freezer option but now I may join in new branch and i have no clue about fridge & freezer. I was aksed to place ice pack always in freezer.. Is it not needed? Is it staying cool for you even when you are placing them in freezer @ work? Pls let me know..

    Suni,

Why is this temp settings required? :hide:

    *************************************************************************

I am in US, for those who are in India I am not sure whether what I am doing is suitable, given that the temperature and cleanliness (at offices, common fridge) is quite different. Also make sure to check the temperature setting inside the office fridge, and if it is set to high, dont hesitate to make it lower ... I bet no one will even notice.[/quote]

I have seen in every instructions for BM storage the temperature inside the fridge is also specified. Also when I started pumping at office, I noticed that when I place the bottle inside the fridge there, it was not at all cold ... it was then I noticed that the temperature inside the fridge was set to be high.

Also the cooler bag idea is to help anything stay cool even if you dont have a fridge or freezer. So once you take the frozen cooling material (medela has one), and put the bottle inside the cooler bag along with this frozen material, it should stay cool for upto 12 hours, even if you dont place it inside the fridge or freezer. The cooler bag along with the frozen cooling element acts as a temporary fridge.

    Rgds

    Hi Anitha,

As mentioned in the previous post, I do not put the ice-pack or cooler bag in the fridge/freezer at work. The milk stays cool till I come back home.

Vidhyaa - Finally which pump did you buy? I think once you were asking me. How is pumping @ work coming along? I think I will join you from feb 8th. Going to new office and have no idea about rooms for pumping.. Need to explore more and then start work.. Whats your schedule?
Between, what bag & ice pack are you using?

    Cutekid,

I have had mine for 5 months now and it is still good...Of course I don't have much left in the freezer..
Normally they say it stays good for about 3-6 months depending on where you store it..If you store the milk in a separate freezer then longer (may be for 6 months) but if you store it in the regular freezer compartment of your fridge then may be for shorter time.

    Hope this helps!!!
