woodwords drops is that good for babies of 4 month old

    Hello friends,

    Kindly let me know is it advisable to give woodwards drops(Gripe Water) for babies of 4 month for stomach problems like gas,colic etc.Currently I am giving colicade or colicarmin drops.
    Recently seen in TV ads that woodwards also can be given to babies ..Let me know you ppl experience for giving woodwards drops to babies of 4 month old..

    My son who is four month now sometimes cries due to colic and frequently gas goes out from stomach and from down.. so want to try some other remedy for it ..

    Hi, How are you ?

    Yes it is good for new born. you can give daily also it is good for digestion.

    Also you should have control on your food because you are feeding now.
    are you using Lactare capsules ( for milk secretion) , both woodwards gripewater and Lactare capsules are from same company " TTK Health care" my x company :):)

    I know some of my friends got Himalaya's gripe water from India through their parents and recommended me also, which unluckily I forget as I had everything arranged at last minute.
    Anyways check that also once from friends and docs.

    Hi,

    My mom used to give us gripe water when we were babies :) and they gave the same in recent years to my sister's kids regularly. It helps with stomach problems. But please check with paed before starting

    Hi Telja,

    yes, you can give woodwards gripe water.. I have started giving my baby from 2nd month onwards, not daily.. If she has some stomach problems, i give her gripewater mixed with warm water.. it worked like a magic for my baby..

    And I have started giving her daily after 5.5 month as I have started solids for her.. daily you can give once may be in the afternoon..

    I am not sure but I think both wood wards and bonnissan were not recommended for babies. I thought they are stopped. My son's Paed did not recommend it (as he was not happy with the sugar and alcohol content in both.)and he is now 16. So do check with your doctor.

    It depends on the gripe water. Some have alcohol and other extra ingredients which are not necessary. I bought organic gripe water which did not have any preservatives or alcohol or sugar. In fact I hardly used it. I preferred to imam (ajwain) water.

    Does the woodwards grip water got alcohol content ? what is best grip water avalialble in Indian market good for infants 4 months old

    Hi Alcohol is removed from woodwards gripe water very long back no need to bother. you can give to your baby it is 100 % safe. you can buy the TTK's gripewater ( blue colour wrapped )
