Dear All, I was reading news on Indian Girl Child's plight to survival and ended up reading a few lines in context of female foeticide. I couldn't stop tears falling from my eyes while reading those lines..I am sharing the same with you.. "Diary of a dead baby... My parents killed me and it was just because I was a girl child. However, I am not killed enough. I still respire. I respect my father for his being a genuine killer. I respect my mom for her being not a woman. 19 October: I am wrapped in a plastic bag. On this day way back in 2003, Mother Teresa was beatified. 25 December: It's Christmas! Baby Jesus is born and I see the umbilical cord distancing slowly from my belly button. 23 January: With the world I am observing Anti-Abortion day... under the sun, inside the plastic bag! 11 February: Sylvia Plath died on this day. I am so near to death that I can never ever read her. 8 March: Today, I, an embryo of womanhood, floating in a squalid Indian drain... hearing the noisy celebration of International Woman's Day!" I just ended up thinking that plight of girl child is horrible in our country whether it's an unborn baby or a kid like baby falak, they all suffer and we celebrate International Women's Day saying we are celebrating womanhood..
the diary is really a eye opener for the society...it still prevails in our India.....we as young citizens should set an example for the future generes.
Yes, we have to put an end to this injustice. When we all here in the forum to help each other, why can't we take a stand to save a life from being killed before her birth..
Yes very sad indeed. On one side we r celebrating womanhood and on the other side, we still have these grim practises still prevailing. It will be a true celebration only when every single parent in every household understands the need to educate and take care of the girl child so that she will be independent and will be able to take her own decisions as to how she would like to lead her life.
Oh...I felt very sad after reading this article. Why, people do wrong things? They doesn't have the heart?Who gave them the right to kill such a small infants? We should take a step and try to save the life being killed by these serial killers.still i felt very sad...
Horrible. In many cases its the mother or grandmother who do the killing. What are they thinking ? Life is so cheap or what ! And they themselves were female too. Ok, they will say, men only made us do it etc. But in many places, the Mother-in-law only will make big face if a woman will not give birth to boy, but only girl. Wait till a day when there will be no young women to marry all the boys , no one to give birth to future generations. What will remain is a full nation of sick old men ! It will serve them right. Now itself, i read men from Rajasthan come to kerala searching for brides, because there are very less girls there because of all such killings.
Yes, brides are sold in some parts of Harayana and Rajesthan. We read that Baby Falak passed away recently, she and her mother both were victims of human trafficking! Her mother was sold off to some man in Rajasthan as bride and her kids (Falak and her siblings were given for adoption)! It's just not that teenager who killed Falak, there are many people involved in it, by putting her in such condition and even us, to some extent, being the part of this society. It's a shame on us that the child died and we still see it happening around.
I read similar aricle too in FB. Mother: I am going to be mom soon Father: I am happy going to be papa Embryo: I heard mom, dad happy voice Embryo: I am growing Mom: We have scan today Embryo: they going to kill me Mom: we don't want baby girl Embryo: breathless They want girl in every stages of their life: Mother, women, girl friend... But they won't acceot baby girl
