    though i do not believe in such tokenism
    there is no harm in celebrating a day on Women

    welcome to the snippets corner. You have brought out a important issue during the IWD.

    Well being male, if you could write like this, i hope there is a visible change in mens attitude. I agree there are good men, who believe they should respect the woman, since i have DH who respects me as woman, my brohter who respects his wife.

    As you said it is correct, the value of respecting women, wont be taguht in any Institution, it should be inculcated, through childhood at home, shoudl be set as an example, by both parents, if Mother is always submissive, the boy may take it as all women should be like that, or if father is always abusive, the kid will take that as a standard.

    But if both are confident, and respectful towards each other, sharing each others work, then ofcourse the kid will know that both are equal and both are repectful and should be respected.
