Sorry for the late reply and thanks for your immediate response. After marriage husband is the person from whom a wife expects love and affection. If she does not get the love and affection she gets disheartened and does not know what to do. She does not like to trouble her parents also , so she waits patiently for her husband to change .

If the cooking is appreciated by her husband, the wife feels very happy and loves to try variety of dishes. But if the husband does not appreciate and tries to find fault with what she does, she gets irritates and disheartened and does not feel like trying new dishes

in most families, husbands do not show their appreciation if everything is good, they just take it for granted. But they will become very articulate and vociferous even if there's a small slip up !

Of course within a family too much formality is not necessary, but it wouldn't hurt if once in a way, a word of appreciation is dropped . This goes for both the spouses.

Glad toknow that you like my posts I am not a born writers. After joining IL only I started writing and with God's blessings I am able to write more and more everyday and I feel very satisfied when I get fbs from everyone.

Good though you dh does not appreciate he does not find fault. Some try to find fault in each and everything about what they wives do

My DH is one of them, who doesnt know how to apprecaite, but he will never pick up the mistakes also. So now i am used to it, but as you said once in a while a dose of appreciation may bring more joy in ur life.

Dear Viji Maa,

I agree with you. All will love to receive appreciation. At my home my DH will neither appreciate nor criticise me for anything. So i'll not get an idea about what i am doing is right or wrong :confused2::confused2:

But i use to appreciate or encourage people. Here in IL there are many friends to motivate us with their kind words. Which makes us to do more and more.

Your write up on appreciating wife's cooking very thoughtful. In those days it was understood(?) that food is good when the men folk go for a second helping of a dish. But telling the wife' " sambhar tastes very good or the payasam taste is till lingering" goes a long way... sure is remembered more than a nagai or pattu pudavai!?!
