While browsing the forum, some of you might have come across posts / threads by Guests.
    For example as in here:
    http://www.indusladies.com/forums/singles-world/47766-is-this-my-end.html

    Immediately you must be wondering:

    • How Guests are able to post in the forums?
    • How Guests are having post count credit to their account?
    • Is there any change in the permission for Guests recently so that they are able to post?
Here are the answers to the above questions:

During the routine cleanup activity, we found some users with invalid E-mail id so as a part of cleaning up, we changed their status to "Guest" so that only if they provide a valid E-mail id will they be able to participate in the forums further.
    Now coming to the answers:

    • It is not the posts of the Guests, but the post that were made when they were Registered members of the forums.
    • As mentioned the post count to their credit is because of their participation when their status was as active & registered members.
    • No there is no recent change in the permission for Guests - they are not allowed to post or participate in the forums as ever.
Once these members change their mailing id to a valid one, their status will also be reverted to "Registered Members".

Thank Laxmi for the post, I saw a user as guest and was wondering how can this happen.
