Pakistani women generally wear Salwar Kamiz, but not saree. Why?

Probably it is more comfortable for the weather conditions there.

Saree is a vedic costumes of the hindus.

My muslim friend in school used to tell me she loved wearing sarees to cultural events but feared being reprimanded by her priest i.e the maulwis and kazis for doing so

Saree is traditional wear of Hindu that's why most of the Hindu women wear saree in special occasion, same way salwar kameez & burka is traditional wear of Muslim women.

I know in India Muslim women wear saree because they like to wear saree but I have no idea about Pakistan women.

I think it has more to do with location rather than religion. Very few of punjabi women wear saree (both hindu and sikhs), guess due to weather there they are more comfortable with salwar kameej.

I think because saree is too exposing for the orthodox Muslims. Even the salwar kameez are flared lose ones and it is easy to wear a burkha over salwar kameez than on a saree. This is just my thought.

Salwar suits came from Muslims. Only. They use to wear salwar #uits n we Hindus used to wear only saree's. But now changed. Salwar suits are comfortable so all are wearing. These pant shirts , sleeveless came from British people who rules our country for few years.

    I tho k Pakistan people don't ever wear saree's.

S Indian Muslims that too married people wear saree's.
