Why Eating In Hurry Is Bad For You

    Do you remember the days when mom admonished you when you ate in a hurry? Wolfing down large chunks of food in a hurry pressurizes the digestive muscles causing stomach cramps and indigestion. If you are a habitual eater who empties the plate in a jiffy, then, you can be certain to gain weight. The brain and stomach work together to give you the feeling of satiety or fullness. It takes about twenty minutes for the stomach to signal the brain that you have eaten enough. If you gulp down too fast, you will never feel full and continue to pile up on unnecessary calories, which lead to weight gain.

    Enjoy and relish each bite of your food by chewing slowly. If you take twenty minutes to eat, you will end up eating less since the brain will eventually signal you the feeling of fullness. One tactic is to chew your bite twenty times before you can swallow it. This also produces enough saliva, which is an integral component for an effective digestion.

    [JUSTIFY] [​IMG] Fast Eating [​IMG] and Fast Food Eating [​IMG] are two main villains which paves way for bad health.


    Eating is not just a ritual but a very important art of living which gives lot of health benefits.

    1. Know your food
    2. smell the food
    3. taste the food

    all these can be achieved only when one devotes time to have food which is very essential form of fuel for the body. Good food eaten properly also lifts your spirits.

    Eat to live ; don't live to eat :- yes but enjoy your food and eat. How many of us remember what we ate for BF, lunch or dinner? :)

    Eating in a hurry has lot of disadvantages.


    1. It makes the stomach bloat as air gets into stomach.
    2. It makes your stomach work more which means more blood supply requirment thus makes the heart to pump more.
    3. It means you don't use your teeth, salaiva properly
    4. It will not make you enjoy the food you eat

    Walking fast after meals also give way for cramps in stomach

    Sitting on the floor & eating is 'the best' than eating by sitting at a dining table. Everytime you bend, you work your stomach & waist muscles and also helps the digestive juices to secrete and aids digestion.

    So take your time and enjoy your food. Try to eat together as a family. Happy Dining.

    "Eat to live and not live to eat.." :) i fully agree with this and i have had conflicts with my family members !! :spin

    It has become a habit to eat even when one is not hungry :)

    By eating food slowly we can achieve:
    1) losing weight
    2) enjoing food by slow chewing
    3) Digestion will be improved
    4) great stress buster as we concentrate on eating..its a kind of exercise

    very nice post.Nowadays i have to just gulp down my food since my 10 months old is back of me.
    Now i have to try someother ways .
