    Hello Sowmya !

    Please refer to
    http://www.indusladies.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13530&postcount=21

    Kute Kiddo has given it!
Now. please don't worry - there is nothing wrong in a repetition!
I have just started indexing the puja format. Next I plan to do all the special & ordinary shlokas. Thereafter, repetotion can be avoided.
    Please relax, my friend.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

We must put pottu to lamp everyday, just as we do to ourselves.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear mam,
I have been forgetting to ask one question regarding lamps. Apart from floating lamps do you keep main lamp also or just floating lamps alone. You have said that we have to avoid facing south, so when we keep 4 floating lamps won't one side definitely face south. Please clarify.

    Dear Pras,
I definitely light a main lamp in the puja room. Floating lamps are optional & a recent addition.
When there are 4 lamps, one can face south. But if you are lighting only one lamp, see that it does not face south.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Mam,
I daily light with a small lamp using ghee. The ghee drips all around. I am planning to change my lamp. I want to know which type of lamp to purchase as i am so confused. I am thinking of all these :
    1. To buy big kerala type lamp, or
    2. To buy kamakshi vilakku along with 2 flower type lamps.
    3. To 2 buy 2 flower type lamps
Please guide as i am so confused. For the last one month i am going to shop but coming back without being able to take a decision.
    Luv,
    Presci

    Dear Pas,
Knowing that you are a working woman, I give this advice. Go in for a simple agal type lamp which is easiest to clean. To avoid dripping, but one with a centre provosion for the wick, Such provisions are available independently in a few Mylapore shops. Kerala vilakku needs regular cleaning, if it is big.If you do not get the "wick contraption" buy a brass nut & insert the wick through it, to stand in the centre. No dripping.
Do not buy designed lamps; they look pretty but take an effort to maintain clean.
    Love,
    Chithra.
