Ready to take you, shopping! My dear Meena, Floating lamps are available only in silver. As you say, contrasting them with copper will give an enchanting look! So, when do you come here? Love & regards, Chithra.
Shopping Season!! Dear Varloo and Ms C, How I wish I was there to join u in the shopping too. I live just a stones throw from Vijaya stores and Sukra and yes whenever I am in Chennai, not a day goes by without peeking into these stores. Last year Vijaya Stores had some really nice Thanjavur style glass thengais, I bought some with me to give as Vethalaipakku here for navaratri. They look so cute. Ofcourse, the Floating lamps make good gifts too. Cant wait for the next time I am there !! Vandhana
Are you a Mylaporean too? Dear Vandhana, Why not we all plan a " conducted tour like shopping"? With navarathri nearing, those stores have all started looking " filled up"! How I wish, we could all go around together? Well, if only wishes were horses........! Love & regards, Chithra.
Hi Chitra, That was a great piece of info. All these days I have been lighting the lamp as a tradition but never knew there is so much to it,except that I used to hear my mom say...it brings aishwaryam to the house.... Thanks a lot Parvathy
Welcome, my dear dear Parvathy! I thought, you had almost forgotten me, my dear young friend & here you are ! Thankyou for the feedback. Now that you have lighted the lamp, please continue with me. My regards to Vijay. Love & regards, Chithra.
Hi Chitra ma'am and varloo I am I hearing some interesting shopping plans??? I love it too.. BTW saw an advertisement with photo in "mambalam times" about a lady named Geetha who sells clay lamps (agal) and other varieties too, beautifully painted with enamel colours and prices ranging from Rs.30-120. Yet to go take a look. Regards Sowmya
Hai, even though I have been living in Chennai for the past 19 years, I have not had the good fortune of even having a darshan of the Kapaleeswarar and Karpagamba and many other temples. We go to many other places, but not much around Chennai. Someone is conducting a heritage walk, I read about it in the Hindu, to many places in the city. We ILites could also have something like that when many of you could come at the same time. Just imagine what it would be, we could even ask SUN TV for coverage. What do you say? With warm wishes, varloo
