    Dear Archana,
    Welcome to this forum.
Yes, the precise reason I write about all these "why"s is to appreciate why we do certain things, in our culture. Now the image of the Devi will be stuck in your mind for ever!!
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Mrs.C

I have always wondered about the significance of showing the camphor flame. You have answered my question with a beautiful explanation. Thank you.

    Dear Usha,
You are all injecting life into an old post! Thanks. I hope you read the post on, why we light a lamp. The same explanation hods good there also. If we associate these thoughts, when we actually do the action, it is worth it because understanding makes it more enjoyable.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Mrs Chitra

I am catching on very slowly with all the threads!

I was thinking the same while I was lighting the lamp today evening. No, I have not read that post yet.

    Regards

    Hello Mrs. C

Hats off to you:bowdown The explanations were really overwhelming. I have done all those things as taught by my parents. But didnt' know the purpose and the reason of doing those things. As I mentioned earlier I can guide my daughter and explain it to her everythiing we do.

    Namaskarams.

    Dear GK,
It is interesting to follow customs, understanding the rationale or logic behind them! You can explain to your children better.
    Love,
    Chithra.
