    Dear Sowmya honey !

You are right, it is a Tanjore painting in my mother's house in madurai. Last trip, when I went to Mdu, I photographed it so that I can post it for deepavali !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    I love your sentiment
everywhere there is chitvish around my home.
I am not greedy to ask for anything more in life !
    Love & regards,

Nothing Like Celebrating Deepavali In India

    Dear Mrs C,
I want to board the next flight and come home. Feeling homesick. No matter whatyou do here nothing beats the atmosphere like home sweet home.
I had no idea that Lakshmi was also associated. I remember that you had mentioned this before. . Brings back fond childhood memories.

WISH YOU AND ALL OTHER IL MEMBERS A VERY HAPPY DIWALI.

    Love,

    Dear Chitra,

It was nice rereading your story behind the celebs ofDiwali.....memeories of childhood definetely returns....
But we in south actually dont follow all this lakshmi puja etc and lightingdiyas right? is it something which came from nrth, or did i miss out something.....since we back home had not put diyas on diwali,...i always associated karthigai with diyas...thats why the query.
Anyway, i am all set to do my lakshmi puja this year.....will pray that you are alsuo showered with her choicest blessings all the way from Germany....:clap

Happy happy, deepavali to you and Mr. V and your family!

    Thankyou, my dear Sudha !

Yes, you are right. Ever since Chennai became cosmopolitan, all these customs like lighting diyas, Lakshmi Puja are all followed ! It gives us a nice feeling as well. Ultimately, that is what we want, isn't it ?
Thankyou for the post, Sudha !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.
