This is what I was referring to by narrow frame of reference. You are a smart, enterprising, high achieving young woman. Yet you seem to have a lot of these notions that are just not true of 90% of the population. No, not all Caucasian therapists think this way. Not all Indian men are abusive. Not all Indian women are submissive to abuse.
It isn’t always black and white.
I can tell you from personal experience that there are therapists out there who make a difference. You have come so far in life after you moved on from your ex. All by yourself. You are a strong woman. If you just open your mind to accept a few ideas that are foreign to you, you will benefit from it immensely. It will take a lot of strength to go and open up to some stranger but do your research. Find someone to talk to. I don’t think your family and these aunts and uncles fit the bill. I’m sorry all of their ideas are from the 1970s india. India has also moved on since then. Hope you find some more help.

Ah ok now I know what you mean by narrow frame of reference

I hope I can find a good therapist soon. It is so hard to open up to strangers only for them to stomp on your sentiments.

Some of my uncles and aunties ideas go back to 1940s!

My dh never cheated on me. @SuiDhaaga . That was a reference, that every visit to urologist does not mean a se.xual infection

my dh has had enough of me . he hates chasing random people. he focuses on job and kids. of late he is trying to gardening. try to grow mango tree in NJ. so far 3 attempts fails.

Will try. never knew this. he just buys from sabzi mandi. couple of days back he was trying for murunkai. could not find a branch. i guess that is his mid life crisis

Murungakkai is super easy to grow in large pots. It is called moringa and Westerners have suddenly discovered the health benefits. I got the seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. My plant didn’t grow big enough to fruit but we used the leaves like greens.

You can get UTI even if it’s not due to sex..and also there are some people who like to do some things alone..I do all my medical alone and have even seen make gyneas..like someone said here, it’s now who sees it but how we feel, even if it’s a female, I would still feel embarrassed..
