Hi all, All the last week and the before ,the news channels were on a roll with Wikileaks and Jullian Assange an Australian journalist and the editor in chief of Wikileak. Wht do u say about his release of confidential documents to social networking sites. Will that create an sudden surprise between nations with the revelations of conspiracies?well spying and double talk is common among the delegations, they know that its very common and every nation has its own network of keeping track of information, call it special intelligence or spy's.This system of conspiracy theory was not an new generation technique, its been used every since the nations were formed. Its only that things have never been clearly published in the local news and channels like we hear and read these days. Still,do u think this sudden revelation would cause any havoc among nations and their relationship. With the dark revelation will USA be stripped off its world leader power??Do u call it extreme media's freedom of information, and needs regulations? The person who published the documents was behind bars now of sexual allegations, was it an false attempt so as to control him?Did he expect that his revelations would bring down the ruling party of USA? To me it makes no difference, what r ur opinions? The US security general in the press meet said that "In America if the publisher thinks he is not punishable for freedom of information then the law should me made." Why can't similar statement be made by our home minister to punish radicals who provoke innocent people in the name of region & religion? bye! sudha.v
well first of all, wiki leaks is not just about the gossip that international diplomats share internally and how they internally judge themselves. Instead it is about revealing information to the public that is kept secret because it believes that the public has a right to know certain things. It is funny indeed the media circus that has been created about the revelations and evaluations of the diplomats has far exteeded the furor created about the far more important revelations about the wars in afghanistan and iraq and how they are and were conducted. well definitly the revelations of the diplomats are embarrassing for the US but not nearly as important as the other things wikileaks has uncovered in the past. and secondly wikileaks has not released confidential documents to "social networks" but to the public. the revolutionary aspect of this is that anyone with a computer and internet access can log on to the wiki leaks site and value and access the raw information him or herself instead of relying on the interpretation and analysis of other people as it happens in traditional media, such as tv and newspaper reports.. perhaps this wiki leaks revelation in regards to India will be interesting to some: In Goa we trust: the murder-coverup of British school girl Scarlett Keeling, files, 2008 July 5, 2009 Summary On the 18th of February 2008, the body of Scarlett Keeling, a pretty 15 year old British girl, was found on the beach of the Indian tourist mecca, Goa. An initial autopsy stated that Scarlett had drowned at sea. However, Fiona MacKeown, the girl's mother, told the press she saw bruises on Scarlett's body, and demanded a second autopsy. Fiona MacKeown claimed there was a conspiracy to cover-up the rape and murder of her daughter. She accused the son of an Indian Minister of involvement in the affair. She hired a local advocate, Vikram Varma, to pursue the case, including in the world media. Media pressure forced subsequent autopsies. These autopsies showed that Scarlett had sandy water in her lungs and around 50 bruises and abrasions, suggesting that she had drowned in shallow water after a struggle. She had also ingested a cocktail of drugs including LSD and Cocaine. The Central Bureau of Investigation took over the case. Two men were detained and a police officer suspended. The case is ongoing. The case became the subject of a Channel 4 documentary, which was screened in May 2009. It is also the subject of a forthcoming Bollywood movie. The murder draws attention to the spiritual and economic corruption of the once celebrated Goan culture by tourism and the Russian mafia. In 2007 a Russian detective was reported to have also been murdered in Goa. See also 1220 pages of email related to the case which gives further context to these files.
