Who Will Read Poetry ?

IMO, Poet writes to express their emotions and if the poet's words emotes the same expression among the readers the poem succeeds. keep sharing... Keep writing

 

Dear OP, I agree with jskls above. If you can express yourself & get your word across & if you feel satisfied after writing your poem, then mission accomplished!

As for praises, everyone wants them, but are not generous in giving them! What to do? My husband tells me don't expect to get a credit for everything, if it makes you happy at the end of the day, then you achieved it.. I try to follow his advice

Purple, am I not glad to read this one now . You are right in saying all that you said here.
I love poetry, reason for joining IL is poetry and for sticking around too . A little less than 200 poems of mine are posted here .. trying to brag just a little . I recently had a discussion with a publisher for a book, trust me I can see where it's going . You've said it out loud here.

Who doesn't love appreciation? I do but a poet deserves it more because writing an expression in simple & understanding lines is a difficult job. You wrote it well

 

Sure you would announce as soon as your written poems -anthology- appears in black & white. But a poem or two inescapable in people when Nature is the writer. As it dawns and dusk begins, it is poetry all the way to young and old, man and woman, and animals nocturnal& diurnal. Wish you Godspeed in your endeavour now & in future. God bless.
