From morning to night what is your and your spouse's routine in life.
Please share what you and your spouse do over the day. When do you both wake up, go to work/what you do if you stay home, over weekends............all in all ..........my curiosity is

We both get up at 6 am, have coffee. DS gets up at 6.30. We all eat breakfast, pack lunch, get DS ready and leave to office/preschool.
I make breakfast and pack lunch, DH bathes DS and gets him ready.

Evening come home, I cook dinner and lunch for next day. DH sits with DS and finishes homework. Then we all have dinner. DS goes to sleep at 9. Then DH and me watch tv, browse, read, talk and go to bed by 11 pm.

Weekends.... we eat brunch out, go to friends houses, parks, library, parties, outings etc. I do laundry, iron clothes, make India calls. DH does gardening and washes car. DS is glued to tv or Wii since weekdays we dont let him watch any tv.

This is our routine and we all love it since its very organized.

You should share your routine too ;-)

We have no set routine. I work from home (I am in california, my company is in NY), so I have the luxury of setting my own work times. Both DH and I are night owls, so we both get up only at 9am. DH gets ready for work, eats his breakfast(cereal) and leaves by 10.30am. I get up, start working and when DS gets up, around 10.30am, spend some time with him, have breakfast and then work again till lunch time. We have a nanny at home to take care of DS, so she looks after him till 6.30pm and helps me with kitchen work while he takes his afternoon nap. She will make daal and chop the veggies so that all I have to do is cook the vegetable curry, which I do at lunchtime. Around 4pm I go to the gym, do some shopping etc so that by 6.30pm I am free to spend time with DS. We lounge out at home or go to the mall till 8pm, when DH comes home. Then we all have dinner, and hang out till about 11pm, when DS goes to sleep. Being an insomniac, it is generally sleep-time for me around 2am so I get 3 hrs to either catch-up on office work or have some "me-time". We also get cleaners who come every 3 weeks so that weekends are all about family time and not spent on household chores. On fridays, the nanny chops the veggies for the weekend so I don't spend too much time cooking, and we also eat out friday nights. Saturday and Sunday go by in a whir because we are totally focussed on DS and his activities. Ofcourse, mandatory India calls are on weekends, as well as social obligations.

I totally believe in outsourcing as much of the housework as possible to maximize the time I can spend with my son. he will be this age only once and I'd rather spend the time with him than spend it on cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen.

We live like friends. We both share our duties.

We usually wake up around 7, 7:30. Dont have coffee/tea at home. DH packs breakfast (which can be bagel, toast, boiled eggs or fruits). We both go to work and return at unpredictable times(anytime between 6-8). We come home and dh makes tea:coffee, while I fix some quick snack. Then we both relax and talk about our day while dh goes to the gym.I call up few of my friends while planning for that day's dinner. I knead dough for rotis and boil dal etc. dh comes home and cuts veggies for me. we both then spend sometime in kitchen while watching TV etc.

Have dinner @ 9 after which both of us clean up. I rinse utensils while dh starts loading the dishwasher. Pack our lunch for next day. We both need our 'alone time' every day. So we make sure we get that. Later, I do my stuff, he does his own. Discuss finances etc. Then head to the bedroom around 12.

On Mondays and Wednesdays I go to the gym from work, during which time dh prepares 30-40%of dinner n sometimes all:) then I take care of after dinner cleaning etc.

Sometimes, when we want to spend time with each other, he picks me upfrom work and we directly go to eat out and return home to relax!!or I cook in excess the earlier day and keep so we dont spend too much time in cooking. And few other days, we make non indian food, which does not require as elaborate planning!

I do enjoy and miss my routine when it goes "out of whack" on certain days... but this is usually how it goes:
I get up around 600am, then freshen up and head downstairs to turn the fireplace on FULL this cold winter, and then make some masala tea for me and the hubby. He'll be up by the time the tea boils and we'll have tea together while watching the news and weather. Then the kids are woken up and I'll get them ready. We own a couple restaurants so hubby will get ready and take off by 730am. I am headed out the door with the kids at 815. I drop the older one off and then come back home.....I'll usually work out, shower, do pooja and then prepare for dinner ( knead dough, soak rice/daal, chop veggies) etc/....then I go to my other restaurant to help out for the busy lunch around 1100am....the youngest son goes with me, every where...we have enough space in the back of the restaurant where he does his coloring and watches movies on the laptop, etc..etc.
At 200pm, I leave and pick up the oldest son....come home, freshen them and myself up...give them a snack, make my tea and then we do homework around the dinner table. I'll cook dinner while they're finishing up their home work and while they're playing.
Around 630pm, we all eat....hubby then takes the kids upstairs to give them bath/change into pajamas..and then its story time...while I clean the kitchen.
After all that, I'll settle by the fireplace with some herbal tea and hubby with his TV and his CNN......we'll catch up on the day and then head to bed ready for another day.
This sounds pretty boring, but I find a lot of comfort in my day to day life.:thumbsup

Nice to read everyone's routine here! :)

Wow! Interesting thread! My and my DH routine-

Weekdays- get up at 4:30 am, do yoga+skipping, from 5am to 6 am cook lunch (one curry+dal) and breakfast, pack lunch boxes. DH gets up at 6:30 am and gets the kids ready for school. Take bath at 6:10 am, have coffee with DH and little cereal, sit in cab at 6:45 am and go to office. Offie timing- 8:30 am to 5pm! Reach home at 7:30 pm and see if MIL has prepared anything. Otherwise cook dinner. Serve by 8:45 pm. Eat dinner, take a stroll with kids and DH, feel connected and happy. Discuss DS's studies, DH takes care of her books+studies.

Office being 40 kms from my home....so much time is wasted traveling. So, weekends is meant for relaxation! I wake up at 8 am...make leisure bfast for in-laws and DH and then decide for either going out or having home-delivery! Take care of DS' studies and fix things so that she doesnt lag behind! Then maybe a movie with DH and kids.
