    G DATA AntiVirus
    ESET Nod32
    ParetoLogic Anti-Virus PLUS
    AVG Anti-Virus
    Vipre Antivirus + Antispyware
    F-Secure Anti-Virus
    Trend Micro
    McAfee VirusScan
    CyberDefender Early Detection Center
    Norton AntiVirus
    CA Antivirus
    Norman Antivirus and Antispyware
    Panda Antivirus
    AVAST!

Norton, AVG and Kaspersky are good anti virus that you can use for your machine, A disadvantage with Kaspersky is though its highly effecient in Anti-virus properties it makes your system slowdown a bit.

Even I use Symentic AV and I am happy with it..Had some problems with AVASTI.....Have used Norton too.Norton seems to be pretty okay though it was not immune to the viruses which poped up recently.

Lets see, which one I should go for.

    Thanks again…

Even I was looking for some anti-virus, I am currently using avira, but I want to change it. Since you all have given plenty of anti-virus names, the choices have gone wider. Anyways, lemme just ask you can I download it from the net, whichever anti-virus I choose or is there some other option?

    Bye,

    Bhaswati

Take it from a professional -- NEVER pay for anti-virus software. The free products are just as good. NEVER install Symantec (Norton) or McAfee. They do a good job of protecting you, but cause a litany of other problems while they do it. However, if you already have it, AND if you are not paying anything, and you are happy (your computer is not slow), then stay with it until you get a bill, then drop it.

If you have a legal copy of Windows, then nothing beats Microsoft Security Essentials. Free and very easy. If your copy of Windows is not legal, then use Avira. The free version of Avira is good in every way except the annoying ads trying to get you to buy the paid version (don't, just stick with the free version).

Hey I am not a girl still I am answering this cause I need to increase my post count (sorry mods)

I think eset smart security is the best of all. it is light weight, it updates regularly, it blocks suspicious websites, it have parental lock feature too.

But it is best only if you have a valid license key. if you ever find a valid license key for 1 or more PC will you mind sharing it with me?
    thanks in advance
