Did you end up buying the phone???? WHich one did you buy. I think all the cordless ones works in India even the Caller-id phones works That's what my parents have it.
Hi Thinks to keep in mind Do buy a cordless phone with battery support for the base unit. Base unit without back-up will be useless during powercuts. Batteries should be easily available in India Caller id should not be a problem.. you just have to apply for it in some cases.

With respect to radiation, cordless handset is worse than the normal GSM cellphones. CDMA handsets are the best when coming to radiation aspect.
