@Amica "hangout" is the feel I am looking for. Using that word immediately implies "Google hangout". So, looking for the perfect synonym of this!

Others I can think of: lair, clubhouse, roost ...

It really depends on the tribe name. Alliteration, rhythm, rhyme when you say both words together help.

Context could help, too. Like, adda is perfect for a desi hangout.

Looking for the word related to 'by heart' or rather its counterpart.

To 'by heart' something means to memorize it. What is the term for the checking a teacher or parent does on the 'by hearting' done by the child?

"I had by-hearted the examples of family/genus/species for the biology exam and was asking a friend to '....' so I can decide whether I need to revise."

what is the '.....' It is another Indian'ism like 'by heart'. Thanks!

Looking for the counterpart (not synonym or meaning) of 'by heart'

When a teacher/parent/classmate verbally checks or tests how well you by-hearted the matter, by asking you questions from that matter, what is that checking/testing called? There is a two word or two syllable term for that which is at the tip of my brain but I can't recall it. :)
