I am looking for a word that is used to describe secret meeting place for members of a particular tribe or clan. Does a word exist for that?
Hideout comes to mind but it implies a clandestine meeting. Not sure it applies to a tribe or a clan.
'Canberra' is actually a word derived from an Aboriginal word which means 'meeting place', though not actually indicating a secret tribal meeting place.
Can't think anything more apt then trysts.. tribal trysts... though trysts is associated with lovers now

dugout, sanctum, retreat, sanctuary, haunt, nest, lair, lodge, pad, casa, crib, digs, headquarters, hearth, home, roost, burrow, refuge, asylum ... Will you ban me if I keep going?
