Nothing bad about it but it needs more care. Mother should focus on taking healthy diet and milk to give it healthy feed and also taking care of hygiene is most important. Don't let anyone touch the baby without washing hands and applying astringent. Wash clothes properly and put some dettol into the water. Avoid diaper till its skin becomes more tough to handle the rashes . just take extra care.

Most premature babies catch up with full term ones in two years or so in terms of weight , height etc. so don’t worry.

My friend gave birth to premature twin girls when they were only 32 weeks. They stayed in the hospital for almost one month till they gain enough weight. Both girls are now 7 yrs and doing well . They are very smart, active , healthy and doing well in their studies.

 

Initially a preterm baby faces lot of prospective health issues hence doctors usually monitor very closely in NICU. Lot of care needs to be taken while handling as it will have less immunity. Lots of care needs to be taken while feeding as baby won't suck much and needs to be fed by other means. Certain important tests, scans need to be done on baby to rule out major issues that happen in premature baby. Also regular checkup with paediatrician are compulsory to monitor growth, development, weight gain of the baby..once he or she reached healthy weight for the age and achieved proper milestone, it's fine..till 3 years are completed please take extra care of the child.
