what to distribute when child starts walking

    We have custom to distribute something to near and dear ones when baby starts walking but I am not sure of what it is.
    Do anyone knows what it is?

    Please do a google search for arisalu and click images. You can see them. I don't know what they are called in Hindi :(

    Hi,

    Many Congratulations on your kids first steps :)

    I am from Chandigarh...we usually cook Black Chane (around 1.25kgs).
    First throw some chane before your kid...let him/her pick some and eat them....then take this to any Shani Mandir specifically, if you do not have any shani mandir there, you can go to any nav greh mandir or in general any temple.

    After offering it to the Lord...distribute it among your friend and relatives...You can also make some sweet like halwa and give it as a prasad to all.
