What To Apply For Burned Wound

    I burned my skin while cooking and entire top layer got stick to the hot tava and its been 2 days since i can see white layer and pink inner skin. Usually it will be minor burn like little hot oil or something but this time it is different case. Should i apply any ointment or just wash and apply band aid.

    Thanks. My wound is still fresh and pink. Will coconut oil help in healing? I am afraid it would get infected.

    If there is any simple burn during cooking wash the area with cold water and apply
    Amrut malam (useful for burns). Immediately apply. Its available in medical shops in India. Available online.
    Useful for multiple applications, especially for cuts, dry skin etc. Its always with me in my first aid box.

    If its serious burn consult doctor.

    Thank you all for your suggestions.. cleaning with water and applying oil and aloe gel alternatively.. seems it is helping.. my PCP is on long leave so cant ask her.. did not want to go to urgent care for this simple pain..

    Eventually what happened to burn site. Trust the site is ok but for thesake of others post here how you dealt with it . The siteisfree from scar?

    Thank you for checking on this sir. It took a week for me to recover and get better. By 4th or 5th day it got worse and i had to keep my hand upright to feel less pain. All i applied was just coconut oil, cover with gauze pad and band aid. Did not apply any antiseptic ointment may be that is the reason i don't have any scar now. That was a lesson learnt not to do multitasking while having the toddler hanging around in the kitchen.
