Isn't it interesting how many pets are fruit and veg eaters!! So much for thinking that dogs and cats are pure carnivores. My Fuzzy (a cat) loves his dry cat food and grain items like crackers much better than canned meat. You have to think that all these thousands of years of animals living with man has influenced their tastes. Dogs and cats are certainly not capable of farming.
Hi all pet lovers, yes, many pets like to eat veggies and fruits. we had a pet dog, Jerry, he would always sit beside my mom whenever she chopped carrots, tomatoes, apples and cucumbers. we always had to keep the tomatos on the top shelf in the kitchen where he could not reach!!!! he also loved to eat bananas with the peel
Wow........ nice discussions about pets food habits. I do not have a pet right now...but one of our pets a doggie, loved tomatoes and carrot. We had a small garden and she never let the tomatoes ripen fully. Once the color starts changing, it will be gone :biglaugh She also loved coconut hehe.. whenever my mom used to grate them, she used to rush near her, and have such a sad face as if pleading for it :crazy.
Nice interesting topic. My cats also like coconut, just as Saraswaty mentioned when I start scraping they come there and dont allow me to scrape. The mother and her two kittens who are five and half months old have coconut. The mother is fond of Papad when I open the Steel dabba that times she comes running. Her kid likes chocolates very much. The mother likes crisp dosas, chapatis and upma . love viji
Viji: Yes my cat also eats a tiny amount of coconut (a new taste for him). Alarm bells went off for me though when you mentioned chocolate for your cats: unfortunately it is poisonous for them. Here is a link where you can read about it: Chocolate Toxicity in Cats and Dogs Do you plan to keep the kittens or do they go to new homes eventually? Tina

Dear Tina Thank you for the information about not giving chocolates to the cats. One of my cat has chocolate. Hereafter wont give. When the kittens drink milk on their own then we send them out. Cant manage to keep all the kittens. Usually only one is there and her children are sent out when they become two months old. But now since it is raining have not sent them yet. love viji
Dea viji mam, why dont you add the pictures of your catty girl with her kitten? I just love "Billies" and would want to see them. Thanks in advance.:thumbsup
Dear Rajalakshmi I have already added our cat with her babies in this forum only under Our Cat Lucky. Glad to know you like cats. love viji
