All pleasant experiences whichever we had in our childhood or
youth vanish slowly. The same vathal kuzhambu which we enjoyed for dinner seems tasteless. The same MS song which delighted us a lot seems meaningless.
The same first rank Progress card of our boy which brought sea of smiles does not produce similar effect when our grandchild gets first rank.
The same silk saree which captivated a lot 40 years back seems nothing attractive now.
Our little house with two Bed Room Kitchen built with so much care
brought us joy and peace. Now the same house with lot of improvements with first floor built in,does not please at all.

The words happy, unhappy, sorry and sad --seem to have lost sense.

Are we moving towards asceticism? Are we depressed? Had we enjoyed too much and is this the balancing period? Are we realising

BG 2.56: One whose mind remains undisturbed amidst misery, who does not crave for pleasure, and who is free from attachment, fear, and anger, is called a sage of steady wisdom.
