wake up along with her at nights when the baby cries. make sure she has enough sleep, nutritious food and cater to her postpartum blues if any with patience. these wud be gifts enough.

Flowers(can never go wrong with those ) Small jewellery....something delicate...You can do sapphire stones for a boy and ruby for girl... If u have taken pictures of her all through her pregnancy....then you can make a nice album with her and the baby as the cover....
A beautiful pendant or ring with both your initials engraved on it. A big hug to her for bringing you your bundle of joy and of course as all our other ILs have suggested...lots of help and participation in the bringing up of the baby.
