what is auto cook menu in microwaves?

hi all,
i plan to buy a microwave oven and decided to to buy an LG brand.
in that one, the cost varies according to the number of auto cook menus it have. may i know what is this auto cook menu and for what purpose it is used for?

auto cook menu--they are menus for cooking certain foods. teh amount of time needed to cook is preset (you can say pre stored.) you just need to select that number and shut it in..and wait for your oven to give you the beep when the food is over.

i don't know what is their in the indian microwaves. but i will tell you what it is using mine.

i have this fresh vegetables menu for cooking fresh. frozen for frozen.

finger foods. french fries, pot roast, pre heat, pizza and all.. i just need to enter the weight..say i want to make 200 gms of french fries i just enter .2kg and then close the mw. it cooks and it will ask me to turn them half way. and then i serve...

Shanvy has covered most of that . Nowdays there are MW's coming with settings for making dishes like Mutter Panner and the likes. I have personally heard Samsung is good. I have a Kenstar MW, without covnection and find their customer care service very poor. To me, a major deciding factor is definately the after sales service.

And yes, I plan to buy a MW with convection, mostly SAmsung in the new year sale.

samsung has upto 6-7 auto cook menus only know.
whether this auto cook menu is useful for us?
from your answer i can get that we dont want to set time for particular dishes. only just we can enter how much we want cook(say in gms).

if we want to turn it half way in the middle whether we want to open and turn or else the microwave will give a beep.

also help me to how to choose a model..

my aunt own a samsung washing machine. the after sales service is poor it seems. they costs for each and every repair. she asks me to look into LG. is it so..?

which samsung model you have chosen? help me in this regard too to choose a model with convection

This AUTO COOK should be for the AUTO DRIVERS in Chennai who take us for a royal ride. They should be put into the microwave & set in AUTO COOK mode.......

I am not sure which area of chennai you are from. Do visit a store in your locality and see the items for yourself.Ask all your questions to the salesmen - after all, their job is to answer us . Once you are clear of all questions, make a decision. Do attend the demo class so that you have a idea about the working of a MW.

Honestly, I have just rounded on a brand - but wouldn't decide a model until I visit a store. Thats the best for you too. I always beleive electronic gadgets are best asked,seen, felt and bought!
