I will not replace the RICE thair sadham with chia seeds or oats, rice is my weakness

Green grapes sounds interesting, will try it.

We do the normal tadka starting with little oil, then adding mustard seeds, hing, channa and urad dal and then the curd chillies if it is available.
Cooked rice, little milk and fresh curd. Pomegranate goes well with curd rice.
I like to have the curd rice with beetroot poriyal/ palya. It tastes yumm...

I have seen my aunts adding vennai or white butter to the curd rice, because ir makes it creamy....

I love the thair sadham prasadham in the temples.

    :hello: @Rihana

I want to serve instant curd rice varieties. Here they are. All these varieties are digestive indeed and innocuous to delicate stomachs! Rain or shine have to feel at home! Or at heaven!

It may kindly be noted there is one more version that earned a different sobriquet “DHADHIYONNAM” - a special among Iyengars.
I presume an Iyengar folk in IL sure to DELIGHT reading this word and would post here it’s recipe.

Mor miligai takes curd rice to a new level altogether. I like the round variety more than the long one.

    Sun dried curd chillies
    Dahi Mirchi (Hindi)
    Sandige Menasu (Kannada)
    Majjiga Mirapakaya (Telugu)
Any other names for this wonderful addition to curd rice?

The hot sunny days are half tempting me to try making it from scratch. : ) I even have a few green chilli varieties from my garden.

I find it a sacrilege if anyone leaves those on the plate. In fact, anything left uneaten from a curd rice plate makes me mad. : )

Wow! Love this thread, just reading this makes me drool..
I pretty much do the same, occasionally add grapes to it, but I like the authentic version without the sweetness if the fruits.
My favorite would be mango thokku/ mor milagai/ spicy potato fry..
Thanks @Rihana for the yummy thread and reminding me to buy some mor mulagai on my upcoming trip to India!

Curd rice thread has a great attraction in whatever form it is concealed or conceived. Google search too prove this.
I love during long train journeys curd rice packed on green banana leaf and for touch besides moremilagai, my mom and later spouse used to prepare pulikacchal!
