what diet is given for Kidney Stones?

Hi Ilites,
My DH is having small stone in kidney and doctor gave medicines to dissolve it.adviced not to take dairy foods as they are rich in calcium,take less oily and less spicy foods and also to drink as much as water he can.
we dont use onion and garlic,so to get gravy i use tomato.now i am scared to use tomato also.
Please tell me some recipes which are good for him.

Honeyangel: If I remember correctly, you had posted few weeks back about indigestion for your DH.

If its kidney stones, the best I have heard from my mother is the banana stem juice.

I hope you know which one I am referring to.

If I am not wrong, Tomato seeds are not advisable for kidney stones, please check with your doctor before using tomato gravy

To get gravy like consistency, you can use cashew nuts paste

thanks for the reply
in my last thread i asked for indigestion for my DH but he also suffering from lower abdomen pain.we didnot understand the exact problem.he is getting the pain repeatedly.so doctor advised to take sonography test.in that it is confirmed that he has small stone in kidney and will be dissolved through some medicines.

i will try to get banana stem in my place.Also tell me what vegetables to be given daily.
