What colors were on your plate today?

    A very informative thread for the health conscious. Thanks a lot for this.

    Have heard of it many a times, but never taken seriously. Here after shall try to make my plate colourful .

    Dear Usha,
    an apt thread to compliment the competetion of the month!
    Well, I had red tomato, green capsicum and white+green cucumber with brown bread for breakfast.
    For lunch it was red and orange carrot with green methi (methi carrot curry) and white (banana podimas).
    Dinner was again the methi carrot curry, only that. After 9, I will have black grapes and 1/2 an apple.

    Dry fruits are definitely to be in the list and nuts are welcome too! Lucky you, you found pudalangai! I must have been Italian in my previous life because I include a lot of tomatoes in our diet.
    I can see you are also a blueberries lover like me!

    WOW! Varloo. That is a healthy diet with an array of colors!
    I can imagine the bright orange carrots and methi complementing each other with the sweet and bitter tastes. That's a combination I have never tried, will try soon. Thanks for sharing and do keep motivating us with more combinations.

    A colorful thread!!!
    yesterday
    Breakfast-- brown and white... date walnut bread
    Lunch -- green, red n white asparagus curry, tomato rasam, bindi onion kuzhambu
    Dinner-- green, orange, white mooli parathas with carrot, beans, cauliflower, peas chettinad sabji! clementines for dessert

    today
    BF-- brown, blue english raisin muffin with blueberry jam
    enjoyed all the inputs from everyone!!

    a very informative and motivating thread too..great going..
    as for me,i had the foll today
    red-capsicum,tomatoes,strawberry,apple
    green-capsicum,cabbage
    yellow-baby corn,pineapple
    purple-onion
    orange-clementine

    since i made a mixed veg curry with all the above mentioned veggies,was able to include lot more than the usual...i hope that i continue this everyday

    your dinner menu has packed in all the colors. Thanks for mentioning clementines, I must remember to add them to my diet.

    Asparagus is low in calories and healthy as it is very low in sodium. It is a good source of folic acid, potassium, dietary fiber, and rutin.The amino acid asparagine gets its name from asparagus, the asparagus plant being rich in this compound. Particularly, it is a good source of vitamin C.
