The 'nazar' removing rituals may seem to work, if you believe in the concept of 'nazar'. For those who don't believe in the concept, it is meaningless !
Hi Rachna.. I read Ayatul kursi (ayah from holy Quran) and blow in the right ear of my ds and also blow on his body too..
@ushp posted this in 2014. I hope she kicks in with response to your question! I think she means Jaggery for which hindi word is "gur". From net: Jaggery, also known as gur, is a sweetener famous throughout Southeast Asia and Africa. It is a type of sugar that is not heavily refined. In tamil it is vellam - வெல்லம். God Bless your DD and U forever.
This post mentions how elderly person removes nazar from young generation How does young generation remove nazar from elderly person?
I have seen the following being performed to remove nazar or Dhristi: 1) Simply salt in both hands and rotating it clockwise and anticlockwise three times in front of the person and then ask them to wash their eyes. 2) Lighted camphor with same procedure. 3) White Pumpkin with camphor on top of it with the same procedure after which pumpkin should be discarded. 4) Lemon cut into two pieces one piece in each hand with the same procedure after which the lemon pieces should be thrown out after squeezing the juice out on the opposite direction (left hand lemon piece to the right and vice-versa).
There are more methods prevailing among certain sects in rural India. Red mirchi on each hand rotated infront of face of nazared- clockwise and anti clockwise thrice and then ghd mirchi is thrown into burning charcoal or some other safe fire. In yhis, if nazer quantum is extreme there will be no hot fumes from the burning redmirchi. The nazared person to be away from watching the mirchi burnt in fire. Soft broom sticks like incense sticks lighted and burning end with flame infront of face of nazared person rotated clock and anti clockwise and then thrown into the back yard. There are methods meant for infants and kids afflicted with nazer.
