Hi All, As a H4 visa holder, I know that I can't work. Neverthless, I have been asking around for a job and found that an Indian cloth shop in my area is interested in employing me and paying me in cash. What are the legal risks of taking up on that offer? I desperately want to work but at the same time want to accept it with my eyes wide open of future consequences. Thanks for your guidance. Bharthi
Getting paid in cash shouldnt be a problem... Unless you are in a payroll there will not be any legal problems I guess.. Just my opinion..
H4 working Hi, I too worked in an Indian store while I was on H4. I was told in case if any officials question I was suppose to answer that I was doing a voluntary work & the owner was my uncle. I was also paid in cash but I had to watch out for some people. HTH WFSMurthy
H4 and getting paid - possible?!? Hi Everyone- I heard that if you work on H4 and get paiud, it is illegal and can damage the H1 status of my husband also. Is that true? Does the employer also run the risk?
