What are avg monthly expenses in Plano, TX?

    Hi everyone,

    I have heard very good things about Plano, TX. My company is not in Texas but they allowed me to work from home so I thought of moving to Plano, TX. Before moving, I want to make sure that it will be affordable to me. I have 90K salary. I do not want exact figures, just give me ballpark numbers so I can figure out my expenses. Please mention rent (2bhk), utilities and other expenses.

    Hi tiktak,

    I currently live in Plano. Even though it is one city, it is divided b/w east and west plano. West Plano is bit more expensive than East but they have a better school district, depending on if this is important, if you have kids. we used to live in east plano and rent for a 2 bedroom was $1000 and after adding utilities, it was around $1200 with separate charge for electricity (arnd $80). we now live in west plano, since we purchased a house, but i know a 2 bedroom after utilities is around $1300. We have lived here for a year and we really like the place.
