yes please feel free to DM. The cyst reduced in size with treatment - I took herbal medicines and homeopathic medicines that my naturopath gave me.. I don't have the names of the meds though. I was also on strict diet protocol.

Are you doing intermittent fasting or skipping just dinner everyday? How you manage that? I mean, I see that after lunch, there's no meal until next day breakfast.

@gknew, I may have missed seeing this before but is your HbA1c in the high prediabetic or diabetic range? You could ask your doctor about taking semaglutides like Wegovy or Ozempic. That will help with your weight loss. If you have metabolic syndrome it will take tremendous effort even to shed small amounts of weight.

Ohh ok. My HbA1C is 6.5.
My Dr put me on rybelsus tablets. But that gave me bad side effects..so I stopped it.
My Dr told me about monjuro which is an injection once every week. I am not ok for the injection, so she gave me glipizide last week. Yet to start that. She told me to take both glipizide and metformin everyday.
Currently taking 1000mg metformin twice a day.
Is wegovy or ozempic injection shots?

So for this level of HBA1C, do I need to get more medicines than metformin?

    yes, both!
I’m skipping dinner for intermittent Fasting, I ensure I eat enough for the day by way of snacks and BF and lunch. Skipping a meal also keeps my intake in deficit so I can lose weight... I try to keep my last snack or meal by 4 pm. If I miss BF for some reason, then I eat lunch and early dinner mostly by 5 pm
    max by 6 pm.

I had HbA1c of 9.0 in October 2022, which is solidly in diabetic range. My doctor immediately started me on metformin and titrated up to the 1000 mg 2x daily which I have been taking for almost 1.5 years now. My HbA1c has now come down to 6.7, and she recently suggested 0.25 mg of Ozempic in addition to the metformin to better control the numbers. It is a once-weekly injection that comes in a pen. You just dial to your dosage and inject subcutaneously. I have not seen any side effects so far.

Oh ok. I will look into that. My Dr suggested something called monjuro. I am not sure if both are same.
I am taking metformin for more than 1.5 years as my HbA1C remains in the same level. I started with 1000mg a day and then after 2 months, they put me on 2000mg per day. Been on this for 1.5+ years now. I check HBA1C every 3 months and my values always between 6.2- 6.9.
Never crossed 7 and didn't come down below 6.2 too.
My previous PCP put me on rybelsus 7mg and that gave me miserable side effects. I took it for 3 days and it makes life so miserable. So I immediately stopped it and continued metformin.

Now I changed my PCP and saw a new provider for my stomach issues. The new PCP rechecked HBA1C and said it's still high and in the Diabetic range. So she told me to read about monjuro and get back to her if I need to start it.
I asked for pills, so she gave me glipizide which she told me to take it along with metformin.
I will recheck in 3 months again. I am not checking everyday at home. But Dr suggested to start doing that.
My values didn't reduce very much with metformin even though I took it for a wile , so I assume that its not working for me and I should ask for another medicine if this glipizide doesn't work too.
