Weight Loss Challenge/change

    Breakfast - avocado toast with egg
    Snack- banana and apple slices
    Lunch- rice, chicken curry ,yogurt, baked chicken tenders
    Dinner - dosa and chicken curry
    Water intake less than 1L today. Need to increase it.
    Exercise: walked 4k steps.

    Breakfast - fruit bowl with apple, pear,grapes and banana
    Snack- peanuts roasted
    Lunch - rice , carrot dal fry, yogurt, sweet potato
    Dinner- 2 dosa and chicken fry

    Water -1.5 litres
    No exercise today.

    Breakfast: kodo millet kanji - ambali

    snack: soaked nuts

    Lunch: 1 roti, brown rice, soya meal curry

    Snacks: airfried peanuts + small piece of jaggery

    Early dinner: chutney sandwich (sprouted bread from Costco)

    Exercise: 30 mins yoga

    Water: 1.5 litres

    Review:
    • I ate grains 3 times today, this needs to be reduced to two times and I also need to add veggies or protein in its place.
    • Also, No veggies today except for that green chutney. That’s hardly anything.
    • Now the moment of truth, last 4 days were not that great - no exercise all 4 days and that treat meal on Wednesday made me regress in my efforts for diet & exercise. I have to be careful with what I eat on a treat meal.

    Toasted bread with egg, 1 orange
    Snack- cucumber with bell peppers
    Lunch - rice, 3 small pieces baked fish fry in oven , yogurt
    Dinner - 2 chapati and carrot beans stir fry

    Water - 2 litres today.
    Exercise - didn't do much. Just walked outdoors for 45 minutes.

    Tea: Dhaniya, pepper tea mixed with moringa powder

    Breakfast: barley jowar almond dosai with lots of sambar and green chutney

    Lunch: brown rice, sprouted moth / matki curry, cabbage

    Snacks: peanuts + small piece of jaggery

    Night tea: dhaniya, pepper tea

    Exercise:
    Morning: 60 mins yoga
    Evening: walking -30 mins

    Water: 1.5 litres not including tea

    Review: need more veggies .. A bowl of salad would have been great .. if not, at least sautéed veggies.

    How do you make this dhaniya pepper tea? Do you add moringa leaves powder with it?

    Breakfast- 2 boiled eggs and half apple
    No snacks today as I was having the stomach issues and the bloating was severe today.
    Lunch- rice, yogurt and chicken
    Dinner- 2 chapati and cucumber raita

    Water- 1.5 liters today and no exercise.

    I need to add in more veggies. I wanted to skip rice but ending up eating everyday.
    Anyone does strengthening exercises? My Dr told me to lose around 30kg. Yes 30kgs. It's a huge number but I am taking one step at a time. Losing 60-70 pounds is not an easy thing for me. She said I have to do it for my health issues.
    Also, she told me to do strengthening exercises together as muscles will loosen if we lose weight and saggy. So she said strengthening will help. I didn't go that far with exercises yet.
    As @SGBV said, we need to track our weight every week or once every 2 weeks. If you are not comfortable in posting here, just keep track on it personally.

    I started with 238lbs which I weighed in August. Didn't check weight after that.
    Checked it today and it's come down to 229lbs. I know it's still a high number but I am trying hard to reach the goal. I am not doing all changes at a time. Doing the diet changes and portion control now. Will do the exercises and other workout in near future. Including one after another. Doing it slow though. I know this can't be done overnight. Just being patient and doing one step at a time.

    I happy to share with all of you that I was able to achieve my desired inch loss with a WHR (waist to hip ratio) of 0.75. I'll continue with my workouts and portion sized meals to maintain my weight and keep my energy levels up.I'll keep posting as and when I can.

    Dhaniya-Pepper tea was suggested by a friend (She heard it from a Siddha doctor on TV for hypothyroidism and for weight loss). 4 parts dhaniya and one part pepper, very lightly toast them on a tava.. It doesn't have to change color.. just 2-3 mins is enough. Let it cool and grind to a coarse powder, let the powder cool on a plate for 5 mins and store in a bottle.
    Put 3 cups water on stove top, add 1 tsp powder, let it cook until water reduces to half quantity. Drink this first thing in morning, before each meal and before sleeping. This is what she said.

    What I do is: put 800 ml water in Instantpot, add 1.5 tsp.. - pressure cook on high for 20 mins. Filter it as needed and drink.

    For adding moringa powder in this tea, I use store bought organic moringa powder. I filter the tea in a mug, add 1/2 tsp moringa powder and let it sit for sometime until the heat is bearable for me and drink it. I am doing this only in the morning.

    I am not able to digest moringa powder raw, so I do this method so its easy on my tummy. Side bonus: It tastes good this way.
