Wedding Saree selection Hello All, I am happy to announce that my wedding is fixed in a bengali family. I am a keralite but the wedding rituals are gonna be in bengali style. While selecting the wedding saree, i feel that a silk saree (though its the traditional choice for both keralite and bengalis alike) will look too much with the gold i am wearing..since i am asked to wear in the gujarati style..with the pallu in the front... So now i was thinking what sort of saree i shud wear....fancy sarees like crepe (pls give me more suggestions here..) or traditional silk sarees.. Also pls give me some nice suggestion of shops for the shopping... Thanks a lot all.
Re: Wedding Saree selection First congrats on ur wedding. Regarding your above comment..not really all silk sarees wud look grand..I have seen soft silk sarees worth 35-40k which look way too simple. The colour would be unique and designs would be intricate and saree would be very light also....not necessarily all silk sarees would look grand. There is dull gold finish sarees also now in the market without a conventional border.......a border less will always look less grand by all means.
Re: Wedding Saree selection Vidya, Congrats. If you are wearing traditional jewellery ( maanga mala , lakshmi mala etc)that too with lots of gold then go for a silk saree. Here the light weight, trendy silk sarees and other stuff you will be getting in kochi- Seematti, Jayalakshmi, Kalyan etc. Designer sarees go well with calcutta/ jaipur designs of jewellery and stones.
Re: Wedding Saree selection I love Palam sarees in Pondybazzar, T.nagar (opp to Naidu hall), excellent collection, very unique...you can find sarees as per your requirement...bit pricey though for uniquness..

Re: Wedding Saree selection Most of the soft silk sarees will be of dull gold finish. If u have a visit to Sri Palam Silks @ Tnagar u can see that most of the sarees are of dull gold finish only. Even 100% pure silk sarees wouldnt be that bright compared to tested zari sarees which would be of a shining gold colour.

Re: Looking for bridal sarees I had seen shimmer materials in RMKV designer section and also in Nalli.. But not sure about bridal collections.. Coz we saw around 2k to 3k only..
