We Built a Bridge We Both Fell Down All our Sweat, Tear, Efforts To Build a Bridge Wicked Wolf called Fate Karma Destiny Destroyed the Bridge Destroyed our Ability To Recreate the Bridge How to pick up pieces How to gain strength People we thought we Could Trust Showed their true Colors We Built a Bridge We Both Fell Down Lifetime of hopes, dreams Lifetimes of accumulated Strengths, Talents, Ability What a Beautiful Bridge! People Said How lucky you are to have a Beautiful Bridge! People Praised Alas the Bridge Fell Down And so did We People ask about the Bridge I can only make small-talk story Bridge is under maintenance Bridge is getting facelift But Alas Bridge is No More We are are Unsure Whether we can Build another Bridge So Lovely So Magnificent So Dreamy In our Lifetimes
Dear CE, if I understand your poem correctly and if it refers to your past with ex, I wouldn’t say you had a bridge there in the first place considering all things you mentioned about him. So don’t worry, you will have a new bridge, which will be reliable & sturdy enough to withstand the ups & downs of life . And even the greatest destruction of the century, the twin towers have been reinstated, then this is a bridge. It may have taken time, but your dream will be true Somebody once told me something that is etched in my head till date since it is so true. She said “the wishes & desires are ours, the time for honoring them is entirely HIS! So keep faith!”
Yes, it is about him, and the marriage my Dad worked so hard to create for success. Still reeling from it. Some days I am very strong, other days I am waving like the Tacoma Narrows. Yes, I do pray there will be a new, lovely, reliable and sturdy bridge to withstand ups and downs Ah, the Twin Towers. That day I was listening to the radio in my room, getting ready for University in a few hours. When I heard the first plane hit, I thought it was some weird dream. Then my Dad woke up and I said a plane hit the World Trade Center, and he was like, "What????" Then we turned on the radio when we heard the 2nd plane hit, and my Dad was like, "Oh, no .... this is definitely a terrorist attack. All classes were cancelled and I was glued to the TV for a week! And was quite emotional for months. Few people from the University were on those fated planes. Yes, you are correct, now they built a beautiful tower and memorial. Such kind, reassuring words Oh Dear, that is what one can do. I have so many deep dreams and desires that manifest themselves in writing and art. One must have faith that God Almighty will make them come to pass.
Build a chapel. Shows capacity for independent happiness, rather than to have to go elsewhere (across a bridge) to find it. In a movie "Lillies of the field", an itinerant mechanic and construction worker stops by a convent of german nuns. And somehow they contrive to keep him on their premises, and get help from him to build a chapel in their convent grounds. He also teaches them English.
So jaw-dropping beautiful. I stopped in my tracks for several moments The beautiful Chapel imagery really gives meaning to this. People often say "bloom where you are planted" or "look within yourself", but your Chapel analogy is quite powerful. Really great actor. Great performance in "To Sir, With Love" I shall see this when I get few moments. Hopefully I can watch whole movie.
