Your child will spend considerable amount of time in his school.Hence while selecting a school for a toddler parents must see to it that the school provides such a positive learning environment where the child is exposed to a no. of
Challenging situations through a number of activities.At the most simple level the activities challenge kids to find identical pairs of objects that differ by only one aspect such as height length or width. At a more advanced level children are asked to arrange
a set of objects in order based on the variation in one aspect such as length height colour shape & so on.Toys which pose these & other different types of challenges are abacus,number trays, puzzles trays, sound cylinders,mazechase, wooden shoes, spindle box, geometric shape stackers, etc.Children find these puzzles & games interesting because they are just difficult enough to represent a meaningful challenge to play close attention & make some logical choice.Once they are able to reach the set target they experience a sense of accomplishment, satisfaction & happiness.Hence activities through these games & toys enhance their power of concentration, attention logical thinking ,reasoning , imagination etc.
Soft toys are very useful for emotional dvlpmnt of a child as children tend to personify them &express their negative &positive emotions on them.They get rid of their anger, frustration, dissatisfaction etc by beating , them scolding them, & also attain happiness, contentment by befriending them &showering love & affection on them when they are cheerful.While selecting a school for their child parents must make enquiries whether the teaching methodology followed in school is in accordance with today’s fast changing scenario or not. In modern perspective , the traditional teaching method like lecture method is no longer prevalent & it has been replaced by child centred & practical playway teaching method where child is not a mere passive listener but he participates in the discussion actively & expresses his views & opinions freely on the topic of discussion in the class in different subjects.This enhances the kid’s speaking skills,thinking & reasoning skills,power of reasoning & above all selfconfidence which is very vital quality in today’s world of cutthroat competition.Teaching method should be practical which is brought about by means of audiovisual aids,body language,puzzles,games,stories,rhymes,dancing,singing,dramatics,art & craft,CDs,audiocassettes,models of daily use articles &objects.Many good schools are even equipped with mini models of kitchen,bedroom,drawing room,dining room etc .
