I was in Chennai for some days in Feb ( For the first time ever ) in my brother's house who lives in Velachary...!!! Should admit that Chennai is a very beautiful city. I have been to many surrounding areas ike muthukadu beach, crocodile bank, mahabalipuram, thiruthanni, kanchi, & thiruvannamalai, Njoyed d whole trip but missed out being connected to Indus ladies and specially this thread.. :(

Am sending my kid to school from yesterday...and the very good part about the school is am also joining the school from april 1st. so i can be with my kid all the time( even though i wont be given same class in which he sits).

Yeterday for the first day snacks time, i gave him carrot idly's but he didn't have them out of fear of first day at school...!!
today i gave him Dibba Rotti which he didn't have :(

My DD does not go to school yet. She is 15 months old and goes to daycare. They give her breakfast, lunch and snacks. So I do not pack anything for her.

However, they had "potluck" kind of thing there. So, I gave lentil soup for 12 toddlers there!!
I mixed all dals and gave tadka of onion and tomato in butter. Added just a little bit of pepper and cumin powder, and salt ofcourse. No other spice for toddlers.

Today I packed carrot kheer for my 2 year old DS. He seemed to love it and asked for more when he came back from school! Boiled 3 carrots in the pressure cooker, and ground them to a paste. Then heated little ghee in a kadai and cooked the carrot paste. Finally added milk and sugar and garnished with nuts. He liked it a lot.
