    Hi All,

We are looking into buying a washing machine here in Chennai. We have narrowed down the choice to

    Siemens and IFB

    Which one would you recommend?

Could anyone here share their experiences with either of these. Also any recommendations on which model to buy would be useful.

Any comments and suggestions in this regard welcome!

    Thanks.

hi i am using LG top load for last 3 years.. product and service is good.. my sister is using IFB, even that is very good.. general opinion is that front load machines give better quality.. but i hv absolutely no complaints about top load machine either.. actually loading clothes in front load machine is too much or work he he.. top load is very easy.. actually more than the machine, the powder u use is very important.. i use surf excel top load and rin matic... it gives almost the same quality of hand wash....

I am using LG top load ,fully automatic ,6kg for the past 8 years .It is good and I recommended it for my sister too.She too felt the same.

Amway SA8 product is very good for clothes .Usually clothes would get torn faster and loose their brightness because of washing machine.SA8 avoids such problems.

IFB front load doesn't cause too much wrinkle in clothes. It is good but the problems are :

1.Washing time is longer. So,impractical for daily use.

2.Front loading is little bit difficult. When there is a immediate power cut or if there are kids around it seems to be a problem.(experience from my relatives).

Thanks so much for your replies Renuka, 3Magic and Kishoremommy!

I appears there LG top-loading and IFB front loading are good.

Has anyone any experience with Siemens washing machine?

I have been using IFB with no problems for more than 7 yrs. If you have good water pressure in your taps buy IFB.

Thanks Aaral! One more vote for IFB!

I think Siemens is not very popular. I would love to hear from any Siemens users.

These days it is not the washing machine that makes a difference in the washing, but the quality of the water.

If you have hard water, go for a topload/front load that does not have a steel drum..because maintaining a steel drum will be very difficult with risk of rust.

I know somebody who uses a siemens, a returnee, who feels that even siemens does not give that kind of wash inspite using the best products available, and the water at her home is not hard.

I use a whirlpool sixth sense, and it is ok..nothing more. i still need to scrub out the cuffs, collars..since my son plays cricket, his whites are a nightmare come true for me every weekend..
