Want to look fresh and enthusiastic

HI, I am a housewife from mumbai. I am almost 48 now.
I remain almost busy in housework like cooking, cleaning house, washing etc.
Whenever I am free I watch TV or read newspaper, as I am always alone at home in day time.
My husband comes at 7 or 8 at home.
Few days back my niece was at my place and she told me that I dont live like other ladies in Mumbai. Other ladies in Mumbai live much better than me.
I always look dull and dont take care of myself. My face look always dull because of sweat.Sarees which I wear at home always look old and not properly tied. My hair are not properly tied.
Whenver somebody comes in evening or when My husband comes home from I should look good and fresh.
So I decided evening spend half an hour and do something different daily and look good and fresh.
Please give some tips about dressing, hair style and to look fresh and different each day.

Dear OP,

include lots of fresh fruits in your diet. Drink a lot of water. If you feel your saris are old, then stop wearing them, (you can recycle them if you want, or give them away) get a set of good cotton saris or salwars to wear at home. Go to a parlour and get a facial done once in two weeks, or once a month. deep condition your hair once a month in the parlour.

Plan to go out somewhere in the evenings. You can go for a short walk, do small shopping nearby, visit a friend, visit temple or go somewhere else you like visiting. This will be a good motivation to dress up. Looking fresh doesn't have to be expensive. Even old clothes if worn properly (starched, ironed) can be made to look fresh (new clothe would be nice as well). Wear nice accessories, shower in the evenings, wear light makeup, use antiperspirant, nice hair style, etc. In addition to all have a nice big smile in your face!

I am going to start it. I am a beginner, you can say. Rarely for some functions I did it.
So can you please suggest me how to start with?
Also give me some options of dresses and hair styles to start with.

hi,
you can start wearing cotton salwar kurti,they look so descent,and also we feel so comfortable,even light coloured sarees gives fresh look,use a good face wash,so that your face will look fresh.
for hairs,you can tie a pony tail,dont have idea about your hairs,or go for a step cut...hope all this helps

Hi,
Thanks for suggestion.
As I am a beginner, I think this is easy to adapt.
Till I get used to it, I will follow wearing salwar and kurti and sarees sometimes, which will be comfortable.
Please suggest some hairstyles as I think it is the most important thing which can change look.
I am ready to do different hair style on each day of week so that I will look fresh.
My hair length is mid back and its straight cut. I mean straight hair and My face is oval shaped .
Please suggest some options by which I can chnage my look everyday.

You can be fresh, in the morning too, when your people are going out.. it makes a difference when you feel fresh, happy and positive and it reflects on everyone around.

Prioritise your housework. contrary to what people believe, when you are at home, work is always going to be there..but the key is to priortise. do most of the work that is going to be hard on you in the sense, make you feel sweaty/tired in the morning before lunch if possible.. prepare and keep things ready for dinner like vegetables, dough or any thing else before evening.

Listen to some music, do a work out, eat healthy and be happy..

it is not necessary you need to go to a parlour frequently..learn to use face masks - from fruit packs, and other home available ingredients..

take time to wear your dresses properly.. this is what i do.. once i find my daily wear is dull, i bring the oldest of my going out dresses as daily wear, (for me most of my dresses being cotton are suitable) and replenish the out dresses again..

if you like take a power nap, or just lie down for 10/15 minutes..

Always comb and clamp your hair up during the day..you can comb and style it with a clip or tie in the evening when you take a bath or get fresh..

it is more about the attitude that reflects from us.. being 48, housewife is not wrong..but thiking i am already 48 just a housewife is wrong..start thinking, i am 48 but still young and active and a homemake.. and the day you start making /grooming for yourself, you will see the change, rather than grooming for a visitor or husband..(not that i am saying that it is wrong to do it for the husband..)
