Many people started to exploit the Maadasamy’s soft nature…
Sudden demise of Sankralingam ..was a blessings for those who have taken his lands on lease for cultivation.. Slowly some of them started to delay the share of retuns and some of them not bothered to give them at all. Maadasamy tried to persuade the defaulters but the inability of Maadasamy to be ruthless helped them and some of them even threatened Maadasamy …The same situation started to creep-in with the some of the people who were the tenants in various shops, houses owned by Sankaralingam..The income from the properties started to dwindle and in few months Sankaralingam’s wife and Maadasamy felt the ‘pinch’…

Added to this most of the people in the society believed it was Maadasamy who killed his brother and there was no other assassin as claimed and Maadasamy has done it to grab Sankralingam’s property…

Rumours floated and neighbours looked at Maadasamy with contempt… These things started to affect Madasamy’s nature.. Slowly he started to isolate himself from the rest of the people and prefer to be in solitude…In the meantime another set of people were looking at the ‘relationship’ between Maadasamy and Sankralingam’s wife.. as ‘illicit’..and people got enough fodder to munch by way of rumours.. Sankaralingam’s wife was very much upset when these rumours reached her ears.. and as the things reached an unbearable limit ..she decided put an end to her agony and mental torture…

“One fine Morning she didn’t get up from her bed as she consumed some poison overnight and said good-by to this world..”

Maadasamy fully immersed in the sea of sorrows..Having seen his brother murdered right in-front of his eyes and the un-natural end to his brother’s wife brought him to the brink of mental im-balance..Few weeks after.. he made a request to one of the distant cousin of Sankralinkam’s wife to help and assist him to look after the properties.. and the cousin agreed to do so..

Madaasamy’s sub-conscious repeatedly reminded him of the injustice done to his family.. Day-in day out there was continuous tussle ..to overcome the urge to take revenge as insisted by his inner feelings.. He knew 'the one person' who brought in the ruins to the family …and escaped the hang man’s rope with the help of a lawer ..enjoying his cosy life ….Maadasamy after long deliberation decided to act…and render justice to the deported souls….

On a Sunday evening…Maadasamy confronted Pandy when he was returning from his field..

Without a word spoken he pulled-out his ARUVAA….and in one swish severed Pandy’s head…wrapped the separated head in his shoulder towel…carried it to the Police Station..with Blood dribbling down all the way…placed the severed head on the Inspector’s table and surrendered…
